Operations Planner & Cost Controller

For our international client, REEL GmbH, we are exclusively looking for an ‘OPERATIONS PLANNER & COST CONTROLLER (OPC)’ for its Imeca Offshore Cranes business line, based in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands (5 minutes from Schiphol Airport)

We are looking for a hands-on Planning & Cost Controller to take ownership of planning and cost control across the project portfolio. This role goes beyond updating schedules and tracking budgets, our client needs someone who can navigate a complex organization, get the information they need without being spoon fed, and provide reliable, transparent reporting that helps drive decision making.
You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and play a key role in tightening their processes, flagging risks early, and bringing structure to an environment that’s still evolving toward industry standards.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Planning & Scheduling
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules across multiple disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
Align short-, mid-, and long-term plans and track progress against baseline.
Identify slippages early, assess impact, and propose recovery plans.

Cost Control
Monitor budgets, commitments, actuals, and forecasts.
Analyze variances, flag issues, and support cost reviews with clear insights.
Work closely with procurement, finance, and project leads to ensure consistency.

Cross-Functional Coordination
Interface with various departments to gather the data needed on weekly basis.
Ensure that inputs are timely, accurate, and complete.
Challenge inconsistencies and escalate where necessary.

What we are looking for is …
Strong experience in planning and cost control within industrial project driven environments. (Offshore experience is a plus).
Proficiency with planning tools (MS Project is our tool) and cost tracking in Excel or ERP systems
Able to work in an environment that’s not yet “textbook” and help move it in that direction.
Solution-oriented mindset.
