For our client, Eurus Energy Europe (EEE), a leading player in the sustainable energy sector, we are exclusively looking for a QHSE MANAGER - EUROPE (interim) who is available at short notice to further strengthen and professionalise the QHSE domain.

NOTE1: Only candidates who are eligible to work and live in the European Union (EU) and/or have an EU-passport will be considered for this role !!!

NOTE2: This is a temporary assignment of 12 months to cover a period of absence within the team (sick leave cover).

JOB PROFILE

The QHSE Manager reports to the Head of Asset Management and works closely with Asset Management teams across Europe, supporting the management of the Eurus Energy Europe portfolio.

The role is responsible for the full QHSE scope across office and field environments, including the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Company’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) framework.

The QHSE Manager will play a key role in enhancing QHSE maturity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and embedding a strong safety culture across the organisation, while addressing existing gaps and driving continuous improvement.

This position is based in Amsterdam and requires regular travel to Eurus offices and project sites across Europe.

TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES

1. QHSE Management System & Compliance

  • Take ownership of the full QHSE scope within an international renewable energy organisation
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the QHSE management system (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
  • Monitor, interpret, and ensure compliance with applicable HSE legislation and regulatory requirements across multiple European jurisdictions
  • Conduct compliance assessments and define corrective actions to ensure ongoing regulatory alignment
  • Ensure alignment with Group QHSE standards, policies, and best practices

2. Operational HSE Management

  • Act as a key advisor to management and local teams on all QHSE matters
  • Oversee health and safety across construction, operation, and maintenance activities
  • Ensure safe management of:
    • Contractor and subcontractor activities
    • Work at height, lifting and handling operations
    • Electrical risks (low, medium, and high voltage)
    • Mechanical systems and applicable EU directives
  • Support environmental compliance, including:
    • Wind energy project-specific requirements
    • Waste management and environmental protection
    • Works near utilities and infrastructure
  • Provide on-site support during turbine inspections, audits, and safety walks

3. Risk, Incident & Audit Management

  • Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and QHSE documentation
  • Review and challenge contractor-submitted safety documentation
  • Ensure proper reporting, investigation, and follow-up of incidents, near-misses, and preventive reports
  • Define and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead internal and external QHSE audits, including audits of contractors and external partners

4. Training, Emergency Response & Coordination

  • Define and implement HSE training requirements across the organisation
  • Organise, coordinate, and monitor GWO and related training programmes
  • Establish and enforce QHSE requirements for contractors and subcontractors
  • Coordinate the Emergency Response (BHV) team and act as primary contact for building safety matters
  • Promote awareness, engagement, and adherence to QHSE practices across teams

5. Continuous Improvement & QHSE Maturity

  • Identify, prioritise, and eliminate backlogs in QHSE processes, systems, and documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance QHSE performance and maturity
  • Support the embedding of policies, procedures, and best practices across all European operations
  • Encourage knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and the deployment of best practices across projects

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience & Qualifications

  • Technical background with solid QHSE experience
  • Minimum 7–8 years’ experience in a similar role or in HSE supervision/coordination within the wind energy sector
  • Experience across construction, operation, and maintenance environments
  • Strong knowledge of European HSE legislation and standards (e.g. Netherlands, UK, Spain, Norway, Finland, Italy)
  • Proven experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Experience with internal audits and audit preparation

Additional Requirements

  • Fluent in English (additional European languages are an advantage)
  • Familiarity with GWO requirements and training coordination
  • Experience with emergency response (BHV) and building safety
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies (e.g. RI&E) is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Europe
  • Valid work permit for the Netherlands (e.g. EU passport)
