The Company:

Ocean Grazer is a young company developing energy storage systems for offshore wind farms. Their Ocean Battery, inspired by traditional Pumped Hydro Storage (PHS), has already received prestigious awards, including a Best-of-Innovation award from CES Las Vegas. In collaboration with RWE, they won the tender for the HKW-VII wind farm, and the industry eagerly awaits the results of our first demonstration projects. What will you do?

As a Project Engineer at Ocean Grazer, you will take the opportunity to play a crucial role in the design and development of the groundbreaking Ocean Battery system. With your in-depth technical knowledge of civil engineering, both on land and at sea, you go beyond traditional design aspects. You are responsible for design, construction, material selection, and structural analyses, with special attention to offshore constructions. You play a key role throughout the project's lifecycle, keeping execution risks manageable and making the design practically feasible.

You are not only a technical expert but also a team player who thrives on collaboration between different disciplines, such as structural design, geotechnics, and construction management. Your ability to come up with innovative and creative solutions is crucial as they work on projects that go beyond the standard. You effectively collaborate with external parties to benefit from existing knowledge while closely monitoring the quality and specifications of civil constructions.

Who are you?

You are a professional with an innovative outlook on civil engineering and a passion for sustainability. You understand the (international) standards and norms in this sector and know how to apply them in an innovative way, both technically and economically. You are aware of the latest technological developments and understand how they can benefit them in realizing the Ocean Battery.

With a focus on environmental impacts and sustainability principles, you integrate these into the design while maintaining a high safety awareness and complying with all relevant regulations. Your flexibility enables you to adapt to changing conditions and the dynamics of a rapidly growing organization. Additionally, you bring excellent project management skills, including planning, resource management, and risk management. As a communicative professional, you collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and external stakeholders, taking ownership of the design of crucial system components. You act as the internal and external point of contact for civil engineering development, playing an essential role in the success of the Ocean Battery.
