For our client, Ocean Grazer, we are looking for a MANAGER ENGINEERING & DESIGN with an entrepreneurial attitude.

The office of Ocean Grazer is based in Groningen-City Center (near Central Station).

The Company:

Ocean Grazer is a young company developing energy storage systems for offshore wind farms. Their Ocean Battery, inspired by traditional Pumped Hydro Storage (PHS), has already received prestigious awards, including a Best-of-Innovation award from CES Las Vegas. In collaboration with RWE, they won the tender for the HKW-VII wind farm, and the industry eagerly awaits the results of their first demonstration projects. We are looking for a fun, enthusiastic colleague who is eager to join the team and lead the development of this product.

What will you do?

As an experienced Manager Engineering & Design at Ocean Grazer, you are the driving force behind the development of the Ocean Battery. You lead the design team, steer the development, and set a clear development path for each subsystem. With your multidisciplinary skills, you successfully combine knowledge, process, and partners into an efficient development process. Planning, resource management, risk management, and reporting are among your essential tasks, keeping expectations clear and motivating the team.

Who are you?

As a driven Manager Engineering & Design at Ocean Grazer, you form the beating heart of their innovative mission. Your strong leadership qualities go beyond just managing a team; you inspire, set goals, and ensure effective communication within the team. You have excellent communication skills, not only within the team but also externally with stakeholders, customers, and government agencies. You are accustomed to working in an international environment and have excellent proficiency in the English language.

With sufficient experience in civil infrastructure, preferably supplemented with knowledge of maritime and/or energy infrastructure, you are familiar with design and engineering principles. Your innovative mindset and problem-solving abilities make you the architect of complex, innovative processes and systems.

Budgets are not just numbers for you; you manage them effectively, provide accurate cost estimates, and keep a close eye on costs. Your sustainability drive goes beyond the norm. You don't just aim for sustainable energy integration; you strive for sustainability in every step of the Ocean Battery reality.
